Many people might not know this, but Pinterest is a powerful platform that can help you increase affiliate sales and drive traffic to your offers. In this post, I will cover how to properly promote ClickBank products on Pinterest in order to improve your chances of making commissions.
TL;DR:
- Pinterest’s high purchase intent and visual nature make it a powerful platform for promoting affiliate products. Choose a profitable niche like health, wealth or relationships.
- Search ClickBank Marketplace for high-converting offers. Look for products with high Gravity Scores.
- Send Pinterest traffic to your own content first to build trust and warm up leads before sending them to a ClickBank sales funnel. This boosts long-term revenue.
- Automate your Pinterest account with a tool like Tailwind to save time.
Why Pinterest is a Valuable Platform for ClickBank Marketing

Pinterest is a goldmine for affiliate marketers, and here’s why.
It’s not just a social media platform; it’s a powerful search engine tailored for visual content.
People visit Pinterest looking for ideas, inspiration, and products, making it the perfect place for you to showcase Clickbank products.
High Purchase Intent
A significant portion of Pinterest users are ready to make a purchase.
Statistics show that 89% of Pinterest users use the platform for purchase inspiration.
This high purchase intent makes Pinterest an ideal place for promoting ClickBank products.
By creating engaging and visually appealing pins, you can direct traffic to your affiliate links and increase the likelihood of conversions.
Evergreen Content
Another advantage of Pinterest is the longevity of its content.
Unlike other social platforms where your posts might get buried in a matter of hours, Pinterest pins can remain visible and drive traffic for months or even years after they’re posted.
This means your effort today can continue to pay off in the long term, providing a steady stream of passive income from your affiliate links.
SEO Opportunities
Pinterest’s search engine allows users to search for specific ideas, products, and inspirations.
You can increase your visibility on the platform by using the right keywords in your pin titles and descriptions.
This means that with the right strategy, your pins can rank high in searches, leading more potential buyers to your ClickBank affiliate links.
How to Promote ClickBank Products on Pinterest and Make Money

By utilizing Pinterest traffic, you don’t even need a website to promote ClickBank products!
The good news is that it’s never been easier to promote ClickBank products on Pinterest.
By following the simple steps outlined in this post, you can get your affiliate links set up and start making money!
1. Choose a Niche
Before you get started with promoting ClickBank products on Pinterest, you will need to know what niche your Pinterest account will be centered around.
Start out by selecting a niche from the categories below unless you are a true expert in a specific hobby niche:
- Health (Exercise, Weight Loss, Wellness)
- Wealth (Make Money Online, Investing, Business)
- Relationships (Marriage, Dating, Sex)
One of the great things about Pinterest is that you don’t need an overly narrow niche to see success. Unlike other social platforms that reward targeting a very specific demographic, Pinterest gives you flexibility.
For example, you may build your account generally around “Exercise” as the main niche. But within that broader category, use your Boards to organize content into more defined sub-niches when helpful.
So perhaps you have one board exclusively for “At-Home Workouts” while another focuses on “HIIT Routines.”
The key is focusing on a niche that allows you to create a wide range of content. But then leverage Pinterest’s unique Board structure to dive deeper into particular sub-topics when relevant.
This variety keeps your profile engaging while also establishing you as knowledgeable across your broader niche.
So don’t worry about being the “fitness for over-40 male entrepreneurs guy”—just own the Exercise niche in your own authentic way.
2. Find ClickBank Products to Promote
The next step is to choose a couple of ClickBank products to start promoting.
First, you need to sign up for a ClickBank affiliate account. It’s free and easy to get started.

Once you have signed up for a ClickBank account, navigate to the Affiliate Marketplace to begin searching for offers to promote on Pinterest.

I’ll start my search by narrowing it down to a specific niche and then filtering the results by Gravity: High-Low.
You may be wondering how is the ClickBank Gravity Score calculated.
The ClickBank Gravity Score is a performance metric calculated over a 12-week rolling period used to measure the sales momentum of offers on the ClickBank affiliate marketplace. It calculates the number of unique affiliates that have made a commission on a particular offer during the aforementioned time frame, and weights more recent sales more favorably.
The higher the Gravity Score, the better an offer is currently performing for a wider array of affiliates. It’s not an end-all-be-all metric but it is certainly helpful when choosing a new offer to try out.

The next step is to examine if the offer is good enough to promote (can it make consistent money).
When determining if a ClickBank offer is worth promoting, I’m looking for these things to be true:
- Gravity Score > 10
- Average $/conversion > $100 USD
- Recurring/Rebill commissions available
Once I find an offer that looks solid, I’ll use the eye test on its landing page and funnel to determine whether I think it will convert well.
Let’s try this out with the offer below 👇
John Thornhill’s Ambassador Program is one of ClickBank’s top IM (internet marketing) offers.
The whole premise of the Ambassador Program is to help you set up your own funnel to promote ClickBank products without actually needing your own website.
I signed up for John Thornhill’s Ambassador Program to check it out and it’s a pretty damn good affiliate marketing system for newbies looking to make their first money online, so I promote it as well.

Sending traffic to this type of polished webinar landing page will more often than not result in the user entering their information.
From that point on, the lead is pushed through a conversion-optimized funnel, and you receive 50% commission every step of the way (including all recurring billing).

In fact, the average commission earned per conversion, including upsells and recurring revenue is over $350 and you have the opportunity to make up to $3493 for just a single sale!
John is so confident that the Ambassador Program will work for almost anyone who is serious about making money online that he even guarantees you will make $2000 in the first 90 days.

Unlike other IM webinars out there, this one is no frills and jumps immediately into explaining step-by-step exactly how the Ambassador Program works. If you are interested in a super simple system to make money promoting some of ClickBank’s top products you should do yourself a favor and watch it.
Looking for offers to promote outside of ClickBank? Here are some alternatives to ClickBank you should consider.
3. Get your Affiliate Links
Once you’ve found a ClickBank offer to promote, you need to grab an affiliate link to share on your Pinterest account.
ClickBank links are often referred to as HopLinks. In order to create a ClickBank HopLink for a specific offer just follow the steps below:
The first step is to click on the blue Promote button located to the right of the offer description.

Next, enter your account ID (nickname), tracking ID (optional), and choose which landing page you want to send your traffic to. Then click the Create HopLink button.

The final step is to click the Copy button.

When you share this HopLink on your Pinterest account and they make a purchase you will get credit for the sale!
Be sure to specify how and when ClickBank pays you…or you will get a paper check sent to your house once you reach your payment threshold.
4. Setup Pinterest Business Account
The next step is to set up your Pinterest Business account.
In order to set up a Pinterest Business account, you will need to have a website.

There are a million and one ways to host your blog or website, but to get started I suggest signing up for Bluehost and then reading my article on how to start a blog.
An alternative to building a fully fleshed-out website is to buy a custom domain and host it on a platform like Systeme.io. There, you can host landing pages and advertorial-style posts to promote your ClickBank products.
If you already have a personal Pinterest account, you can add a new business account by going to your profile and choosing Add Account.

Once your business account is created, you will need to verify that you own your website’s domain name.
By verifying your domain, you’ll be able to use Pinterest Analytics, which will help you figure out how popular your pins are in the future.
5. Create Your Profile
Because every brand is unique, I won’t waste your time with a step-by-step walkthrough of how to create a profile for your Pinterest account.
Instead, I’m going to give you a few tips for creating a profile that will stand out and help give you a leg up in your niche.
Establish Brand Identity
If you want others to be able to discover you on Pinterest by name, try to keep the Name and Username fields consistent with your other social media accounts
Get Top Niche Keywords in the Description
When crafting your description make sure to include all of the top keywords for your niche. However, don’t stuff keywords for the sake of getting them in the description.

Add Keywords to Profile Pic
Before uploading your profile pic try to use your top niche keywords in the image filename (i.e. james-lee-affiliate-marketing-seo-online-business-expert.png)
6. Create Pinterest Boards
Pinterest Boards are used to save, categorize, and organize pins. You can create new boards directly from your profile or whenever you make a new pin.

Examine the keywords and categories that the most popular accounts in your niche use when making boards, and adopt the same strategy for your own account.
Naming Boards
When naming a board you should put the keyword in the front position of the title.
In the description field, you should also use your main keyword once and a variation of the keyword as well.
Pro Tip:
Make sure to write casually (i.e. conversationally) in the description to avoid the appearance of keyword stuffing.
7. Design Pin Covers
I believe that creating Pin Covers is the most important thing that you will do with regard to your Pinterest account.
High-quality pin covers are essential for driving traffic from Pinterest. The imagery and text should immediately capture the user’s attention and curiosity.
Rather than focusing heavily on vanity metrics, I optimize pins to increase the click-through rate.
This means crafting covers that act as “scroll-stoppers”—making readers pause their feed to learn more.

Either the graphic, the title, or a combination of both should stand out in the feed and stop them dead in their tracks.
Typically, the best way to do this is by creating your pin covers one by one in a tool like Canva.
But hand-crafting pin covers takes A LOT of time…
Because Pinterest traffic is lower quality than Google search traffic, my goal is to get the best results while expending the least amount of effort.
I currently use Tailwind Create to automate the creation of my pin covers. It’s probably 10x-15x more efficient than creating pin covers by hand.

All you have to do is load the titles, subtitles (optional), images (Tailwind provides a huge stock image library as well), and color palettes.
Tailwind Create will then spit out hundreds of combinations of pin covers which you can easily edit to your liking.
The learning curve is almost nonexistent, and it really does help you build your Pinterest account quickly.
I also use Tailwind to schedule my pins (we’ll talk about this later). There’s no true alternative to Tailwind other than manually creating and pinning everything yourself…and I’m not about that life!
Other Pin Design Tips
- Choose bright high-resolution photos
- Use words that accurately describe the post that you are sending them to
- Try combining numbers, power words, and descriptive adjectives on your pin cover designs for maximum click-through rate
- The ideal aspect ratio for Pinterest images is 2:3, with sizes like 1000×1500 pixels being optimal
- Consistent use of colors, fonts, and styling ensures your pins are recognizable and relatable
8. Craft Catchy Pin Titles and Descriptions
Each pin has two areas of text that you need to fill out before you can post it: the title and description.

Tailwind has a feature called Ghostwriter which uses AI to craft the perfect titles and descriptions for you. Ghostwriter can even write entire blog posts for you in a few minutes.
It’s pretty amazing and will save you a lot of time.
If you want to take a more hands-on approach, just make the title of your pin the same as the title of the blog post it links to.
This creates zero opportunity for confusion when a user clicks through to your blog.
As for the description, start by copying and pasting the blog post’s post meta description and editing the pin’s description based on the Pinterest keyword research you have already done.
The goal is to get your main keywords as close to the front of the description as possible, while still making sure it reads as a coherent paragraph…don’t keyword stuff!
9. Automate Your Pinterest Account (Get Consistent Traffic)
By automating your Pinterest account, you can spend less time on Pinterest and more time working on your ClickBank affiliate marketing business.
If you are serious about getting traffic from Pinterest, you should create an account with Tailwind.
I schedule all of my pins using Tailwind because I don’t have the time to do it by hand and I like to have everything automated.

When I started building my first Pinterest account, I hand-pinned everything.
I had a spreadsheet and a system for rotating my pins.
I quickly learned that I was a waste of time and energy.
Once I moved to Tailwind I was able to schedule my pins weeks in advance, which freed up time to work on growing my site in other areas.
Here are my basic scheduling guidelines:
- Pin 20-30 times per day when starting out
- Create a Tailwind Smart Schedule to create consistency with your pinning
- Always be sure to pin to the most relevant board first
- Wait at least 30 days before pinning the same pin to the same board
- When pinning the same pin to multiple boards, space them out a minimum of 2 days
Is Direct Linking to ClickBank Products on Pinterest OK?
Many people who teach Pinterest affiliate marketing will tell you to link your pins directly to your affiliate links.
I can confirm that it is okay to pin your ClickBank affiliate links, but Pinterest constantly does sweeps for spammy accounts, so I suggest mixing in direct linking with sending traffic to your website.
I almost never direct link, but I see the allure for new affiliate marketers who are looking for quick results.
If you are going to directly link to your ClickBank offers, don’t add the naked ClickBank HopLink to your pin. Make sure to use a link shortener or cloaker first.
Alternatives to Direct Linking ClickBank Products
The truth is that direct linking will get you some sales, but the conversion rate is typically very low.
In my opinion, direct linking is wasting a big potential revenue opportunity.
What I would suggest is to instead use Pinterest as a traffic source to build an email list. In the long term, you will make WAYYYY more money using this strategy over direct linking to ClickBank products.
To recap how that works:
- Drive users to a lead magnet
- Collect their email address
- Send them to your ClickBank offer
- Continue to remarket to them until/if they unsubscribe from your email list.
Another solid tactic is to send the Pinterest traffic to advertorial-style landing pages (created with Systeme.io) and link to your ClickBank affiliate offers directly from there.
Both of these methods warm up the potential buyer and are less jarring than sending them from a pin to a ClickBank offer with little to no context.
Final Thoughts…

Advertising ClickBank products on Pinterest can be a successful strategy for boosting affiliate revenue.
However, to avoid any problems, always abide by Pinterest’s policies and guidelines.
